A Rare Brazilian Sativa Preserved Through Open Pollination

Manga Rosa is a legendary old Brazilian Sativa, treasured for its unmistakable ripe-mango aroma, clear cerebral energy and warm, social character. This reproduction originates from old Brazilian Seed Company stock and was created to preserve the broad genetic expression of the original line rather than narrowing it down to a single selected phenotype.

The reproduction was made from a population of twelve plants. Three individuals came from my own first reproduction generation, while nine were grown from the remaining original stock. Three selected males were allowed to openly pollinate the females, maintaining greater genetic diversity and preserving the natural variation found within this historic Brazilian population.

The plants express a distinctly tropical Sativa character, with sweet ripe-mango aromas at the centre of the profile. Depending on the individual, additional notes of tropical fruit, herbal spice and warm resin may appear. Long floral structures, foxtailing tendencies and orange-to-reddish pistils can be expected among the different phenotypes.

The effect is bright, uplifting and highly sociable. Rather than becoming heavy or withdrawn, the experience encourages conversation, creativity and positive interaction. It is a clean and naturally energetic Sativa effect with good duration and very little physical heaviness.
